Facts About Certified Forests

Only 10% of the world’s forests are certified to credible third-party certification programs. That is to say that 90% of the world’s forests are not certified, and therefore do not give the assurance that they are harvested under the rigourous scrutiny of third party organizations.

Canada has 40% of the world’s certified forests, far more than any other country.  Canada is a proud global leader in forest management.

More than 2/3 of Canada’s harvestable forests are independently certified, guaranteeing that sustainable forest management standards are upheld.  Therefore, buyers of wood harvested from Canada can be confident that it was harvested in a sustainable, environmentally responsible way.
